Fact Check Policy

Effective Date: June 8, 2026

At The Press of Asia, every story undergoes a fact-checking process before publication. This policy explains our methods.

  1. Fact-Checking Process

All news stories are fact-checked by the assigned desk editor before publication. Key facts including names, dates, locations, titles, statistics, and quotes are verified against primary sources.

  1. Source Verification

Primary Sources: We rely on official government statements, press releases, court filings, verified social media accounts, and direct interviews.

Secondary Sources: When primary sources are unavailable, we cross-check information across at least two reputable news organizations.

  1. What We Verify

Names and titles of all individuals and organizations mentioned.

Dates, times, and locations of events.

Statistics, figures, and financial data.

Quotes and statements attributed to specific individuals.

Historical context and background information.

  1. Fact Check Team

Our fact check desk reviews stories for accuracy. While we do not currently maintain a full-time fact check team, all articles are reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief or designated desk editor.

  1. Correction of Errors

If an error is discovered after publication, it is corrected immediately in accordance with our Corrections Policy. All corrections include a timestamp and explanation.
