- Editorial Standards
The Press of Asia is committed to providing accurate, fair, and balanced news coverage. The following principles are our editorial requirements. Rajnish Kumar, Founder and Editor-in-Chief, is accountable for applying them and addressing failures through visible corrections:
Accuracy and Verification: Significant claims must be checked against credible evidence before publication. Multiple outlets repeating the same press release or agency dispatch are not independent confirmations. We prioritize primary sources such as official statements, government releases, court documents, and direct witness accounts.
Fairness and Balance: We present all relevant sides of a story and avoid editorial bias in news reporting. Opinion content is clearly labeled and separated from news reporting.
Attribution and Transparency: All information is properly attributed to its source. When multiple sources are used, they are clearly identified. Anonymous sources are used only when absolutely necessary and their use is explained to readers.
Independence: The Press of Asia maintains editorial independence from advertisers, sponsors, and political interests. Rajnish Kumar is responsible for editorial decisions. Desk bylines identify subject areas and do not establish the existence of separate staffed teams.
- Content Categories
News: Factual reporting on current events with verified information and clear attribution.
Opinion: Clearly labeled commentary, analysis, and editorials reflecting individual or organizational viewpoints.
Analysis: In-depth examination of news events with context and expert perspectives.
- Story Selection Criteria
Stories are selected based on newsworthiness, public interest, timeliness, and relevance to our audience in Asia and globally.
- Updates and Corrections
When errors are identified, corrections are made promptly and noted clearly. Updates to articles include a timestamp indicating the time of modification.
