About Us

The Press of Asia (pressofasia.com) is an independent digital news publication covering breaking news, business and current affairs across India, Asia, and the world, in English.

Who We Are

The Press of Asia is founded and edited by Rajnish Kumar, Founder and Editor-in-Chief, with an editorial base in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India. Our newsroom combines human editorial judgment with AI-assisted research and drafting tools, a practice we disclose in full on our AI Usage Policy page. Every article is reviewed against our sourcing standards before publication.

What We Cover

We report on India and public-interest news, business and economic developments, Asia-region affairs, world and geopolitical events, and technology, science and sports stories — adding original India/Asia context and analysis to wire coverage rather than simply republishing it.

Our Desks

Our news reports are published under desk bylines, as is common in newsrooms, so readers can see which team a story comes from:

  • International Desk: world and Asian affairs, diplomacy and conflict, with a focus on what they mean for India.
  • National Desk: India’s politics, governance, security and public-interest news.
  • Business Desk: markets, the economy, companies and personal finance.
  • Tech Desk: technology, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
  • Sports Desk: cricket, the Asian Games and Indian and international sport.
  • History Desk: in-depth history stories: the people, events and turning points behind today’s news, with timelines and original sources.
  • News Desk: breaking news that does not fall under a single desk.

Desk stories are researched and drafted with AI assistance, as disclosed in our AI Usage Policy, and are checked against our sourcing standards before publication. Rajnish Kumar, Founder and Editor-in-Chief, is responsible for everything we publish. Opinion pieces carry the name of their individual writer. To report an error, see our Corrections Policy; for complaints, see Grievance Redressal.

Our Editorial Standards

  • We prioritise wire services (Reuters, AP, AFP) and primary or official sources for major claims.
  • We use two or more credible, independent sources before publishing any significant story.
  • We do not fabricate quotes, statistics, or attributions. See our AI Usage Policy for how AI tools are, and are not, used in our newsroom.
  • Where sources disagree on facts or figures, we say so rather than presenting a false single number.

Ownership and Independence

Full details on our ownership, funding, and editorial independence are published on our Ownership Disclosure page. The Press of Asia is funded through advertising revenue and does not accept funding from government bodies, political parties, or corporate sponsors that could influence our coverage.
