November 1: Philippine Airlines has announced cancellations or rescheduling of several Manila flights between November 14 and 18 as the capital prepares for the 49th ASEAN Summit and related meetings. Its October 30 advisory offers affected passengers free rebooking, a full refund or conversion to a travel fund.
Key highlights
- The airline’s flight-adjustment window is November 14–18, 2026.
- The ASEAN Summit and related meetings are scheduled for November 16–18.
- Both domestic and international services appear in PAL’s dated list.
- Passengers should check their exact flight number rather than assume an entire route is suspended.

Why the disruption window starts before the summit
PAL attributes the adjustments to increased airport movements associated with arriving delegates. The official Philippine ASEAN calendar places the summit meetings on November 16–18 in Metro Manila; the airline’s operational window begins two days earlier.
The airline says it is coordinating with the Civil Aeronautics Board, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, airport operators and other agencies. This is an airline-specific advisory, not a statement that all Manila flights or airport terminals will close.
Selected international entries in PAL’s list
| Date | Examples listed by PAL |
|---|---|
| November 14 | PR209/210 Melbourne; PR306/307 Hong Kong |
| November 15 | PR356/357 Jinjiang |
| November 16 | PR330/331 Xiamen; PR211/212 Sydney; PR310/311 Hong Kong |
| November 17 | PR501/502 Singapore; PR300/301 Hong Kong |
| November 18 | PR211/212 Sydney; PR537/538 Denpasar (Bali) |
These are selected entries, not the complete flight list or an assurance that every entry is cancelled rather than rescheduled. PAL’s underlying list is dated 3pm Philippine time on October 30. Its domestic entries include particular services involving Cebu, Davao, Bacolod, Iloilo and other destinations; different flight numbers on the same route can have different status.
How to confirm your flight and choose an option
PAL says it will notify affected passengers by email and SMS. Travellers can also check the airline’s Flight Status page and use Manage Booking for the available arrangements. The advisory describes rebooking, a full refund and travel-fund conversion as free options for affected passengers.
Start with the operating date and flight number printed on the ticket, then compare them with the latest advisory. Do not rely only on the destination name. A route may have several departures, and a paired flight number in a notice may cover both outbound and returning services.
Before choosing a travel fund, consider whether you intend to fly later and review the conditions shown in the actual offer. Before accepting rebooking, check the complete replacement itinerary. For a refund, retain the confirmation showing which ticket or sectors are being refunded. The options have different practical uses even when the change itself carries no charge.
Airport and connection planning
PAL advises extra time for the journey to the airport because road closures and heavier security screening may affect access, and recommends online check-in. Its notice does not prescribe one universal extra-time allowance, so the appropriate buffer will depend on the journey and airport instructions.
Travellers connecting from an international arrival to a domestic flight should check both sectors. If an onward ticket was bought separately, contact that seller before assuming the first airline’s adjustment covers it. Hotel check-in, airport transfers and meeting times may also need to be revised after a flight change.
Passengers who have not received a message should still check the official record rather than infer that silence guarantees normal operation. Ensure the airline has a working email address and phone number, especially when an agent entered the booking details.
What to watch
The decisive information will be the current flight-status result and any confirmed replacement booking. PAL says further changes will be posted on its website and official accounts. Read the updated date on the notice: a saved October 30 list may no longer reflect the position closer to November 14.
