October 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to release the 24th PM-KISAN instalment, amounting to around ₹19,000 crore, during his Gujarat visit on October 30. The Prime Minister’s Office announced the programme on October 29, ahead of a two-day visit covering Banaskantha and Ekta Nagar.
Key highlights
- The PM-KISAN release is scheduled for October 30.
- The government puts the instalment’s aggregate amount at around ₹19,000 crore.
- Banaskantha’s programme includes development projects worth over ₹14,000 crore.
- The visit continues with National Unity Day events on October 31.
The PM-KISAN release on the official timetable
The PMO’s advance programme places the instalment release at the Banaskantha event scheduled around 10:30 a.m. on October 30. The same programme includes the inauguration, dedication and foundation-laying of development projects. It is an announced schedule, so the release should be reported as completed only after the event is confirmed.
Our calculation: ₹19,000 crore is equivalent to ₹190 billion, using ₹1 crore = ₹10 million. This conversion describes the announced aggregate amount. It is not a count of beneficiaries or confirmation of an individual farmer’s payment.
The two-day programme at a glance
| Date and place | Announced programme |
|---|---|
| October 30, Banaskantha | PM-KISAN instalment and development-project event |
| October 30, Banaskantha | Bovine breeding and ET-IVF facilities visit |
| October 30, Ekta Nagar | Bharat Parv and evening commemorative events |
| October 31, Ekta Nagar | National Unity Day observances and local development projects |
The PMO also announced plans to flag off the Sabarmati–Varanasi Express and Mehsana–Becharaji–Sabarmati MEMU services. Its programme includes the start of on-ground activities under 12 approved horticulture clusters.
How to distinguish an announced release from a credited payment
Three pieces of information answer different questions: the announced release date, the aggregate amount and an individual beneficiary’s payment status. A national programme announcement supplies the first two. A farmer checking an individual payment should use the programme’s official information channels and the relevant account record.
That distinction matters when a headline is shared before the ceremony. “Scheduled for October 30” should not become “credited today” when the announcement itself was issued on October 29. Nor does the aggregate amount establish that every person who sees the headline is a beneficiary.
The PM-KISAN portal is the appropriate starting point for programme and beneficiary information. This report has not checked any individual account or submitted any farmer’s details.
Why the wider Gujarat programme matters
The visit combines a farm-support announcement with agricultural infrastructure, food processing, rail connectivity and public events. These components should be assessed separately. A direct support payment, a newly opened facility and a foundation stone represent different stages and types of public spending.
For the infrastructure components, useful follow-up information will include which facilities enter operation, the services they provide and the implementation milestones for projects still to be built. An aggregate investment headline cannot answer all of those questions.
What to watch
The October 30 proceedings should confirm the PM-KISAN release and any changes to the announced programme. Farmers checking a personal payment should rely on the official status information applicable to them, rather than treat a national release headline as an individual credit notification.
